Temptation sensation: Los Angeles takes 28-6 victory over Philadelphia Passion in Lingerie Bowl

"Amber Reed, you've just won the Lingerie Bowl, what are you going to do next?"
"Go to Victoria's Secret?"
Reed, a statuesque 5-foot-9-inch, 155-pound running back/defensive end from Azusa, Calif., was named co-Most Valuable Player of Lingerie Bowl IX. Her two touchdowns lifted the Los Angeles Temptation to a 28-6 victory over the Philadelphia Passion in the annual scantily clad homage to the Super Bowl played Sunday afternoon at Orleans Arena.
It was the second straight season the Temptation beat the Passion for the Lingerie Bowl title and the third consecutive league title for the Los Angeles team since Lingerie Football evolved from a diversion catering to prurient interests into a full-fledged football league in 2009-10.
Although, it should be noted, prurient interests are still catered to in the harder-hitting version of Lingerie Football.
Ashley Salerno, the Temptation quarterback, shared MVP honors with Reed, completing 15 of 22 passes for 125 yards and three TDs.
Reed scored on an 8-yard run capping Los Angeles' first possession, and the upset was on. The Passion, who entered unbeaten, were 4½-point favorites despite the absence of star running back Marirose Roach, who hurt her neck in Philadelphia's playoff win over the Tampa Breeze and watched the Lingerie Bowl from the sidelines in a neck brace.
The Lingerie Bowl, which until this year was played at halftime of the Super Bowl, was moved up to 1 p.m., letting fans get home in time for the kickoff of the Giants-Patriots clash.
An enthusiastic crowd comprised mostly of red-blooded American males turned out, hoping to witness some hard-hitting football and, no doubt, an abundance of illegal use of hands penalties.
