UNLV roundup: Volleyball team rallies to victory

Freshman Mariena Hayden had 14 kills and 12 digs to help UNLV rally to a 3-1 victory over Eastern Washington to wrap up the season-opening UNLV Invitational volleyball tournament Saturday at Cox Pavilion.
Elsa Descamps had 13 kills, Ashley Owens 10 kills and Riley Jacobs 39 assists for the Rebels (2-1), who won by scores of 18-25, 25-23, 25-19 and 25-12.
Ashley Seiler had 16 kills and six digs for the Eagles (1-2).
The Rebels claimed second place in the four-team, two-day tournament, and Eastern Washington finished third. UC Davis (3-0) was crowned the champion after it defeated Binghamton (0-3).
