Career highlights:

■ Tied with Bernie Fumagalli for 26th on the all-time scoring list with 1,122 points.

■ Averaged 14.2 points in 1979-80, when the Rebels reached the NIT Final Four and finished 23-9.

■ Led the team in assists and steals in 1980-81.

Quotable: "I had a good career. Young guys in Vegas, party town ... you get caught up in different things. When I played, drugs held me back quite a bit. But I've been 21 years clean and sober." -- Burns

Currently: Works as a doorman at Wynn Las Vegas and with the Save the Youth Foundation. Has four daughters and two sons. Selected by the Chicago Bulls in the eighth round of the 1982 NBA Draft. Scored 92 points in a game in Chile and played seven years in Argentina.
