2 Rebels named Mountain West players of week
Two UNLV football players were named Mountain West players of the week.
The honors went to linebacker Ryan McAleenan on defense and punter Logan Yunker on special teams for their work in Saturday's 23-17 victory at UNR.
This was the first time the Rebels have had multiple winners since Sept. 30, 2013 when wide receiver Devante Davis and Yunker were honored.
Against UNR, McAleenan made the game's key play, returning an interception 52 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for a 20-10 lead. He also made six tackles, including half a sack.
Yunker, who went to Arbor View High School and began his college career at UNR, pinned the Wolf Pack within their own 7-yard line three times in the second quarter. He also averaged 42.9 yards per punt.
