Big Ten Network to televise UNLV-Michigan game

The Big Ten Network will televise UNLV’s football game at Michigan on Sept. 19. Kickoff will be at 9 a.m. PDT.

It is the Rebels’ first trip to “The Big House,” and the game will feature two first-year head coaches in UNLV’s Tony Sanchez and Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh. Sanchez coached Bishop Gorman High School to six consecutive state champions, and Harbaugh spent the past four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, appearing in three NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl.

The trip to Michigan is part of UNLV’s strategy to play one big-money road game every two years. This game will be pay the Rebels $1 million.

They will get a school-record $1.3 million to play at Ohio State in 2017 and $1.15 million to travel to Southern California in 2019.

UNLV opens this season Sept. 5 at Northern Illinois.
