UNLV running back Cornett to miss spring practices with arm injury
UNLV senior running back Tim Cornett will miss spring football practices, coach Bobby Hauck said Wednesday. Cornett, who injured his arm, had a medical procedure after last season, and Hauck said the back will be healthy in time for the 2013 season.
Four other players also will miss spring workouts, which begin Monday — junior wide receiver Devante Davis (leg), senior defensive lineman Parker Holloway (arm), and junior offensive linemen Brett Boyko (leg) and Robert Waterman (arm). All are expected to be ready for the season.
■ WOMEN’S GOLF — UNLV’s Dana Finkelstein was named Mountain West women’s golfer of the week after tying for second place at the Cal Classic last weekend in Pleasanton, Calif. Finkelstein, a sophomore, shot 2-under 70 in the final round for an even-par 144 total and the highest finish of her career.
