UNLV’s Bornand receives conference honor
UNLV sophomore kicker Nicolai Bornand was named Mountain West special teams player of the week after making two key field goals in Friday’s 30-27 overtime victory over Fresno State. He made the winning 33-yard field goal in overtime, and Bornand sent the game into extra time with a 46-yarder with 3:37 left.
This was the second time Bornand has received this honor, the first UNLV kicker since Sergio Aguayo in 2005 to claim the top special teams award twice in a season.
Also, the Rebels’ Oct. 25 game at Utah State will be at 1 p.m. PDT and televised on ESPNews.
