LOGAN, Utah -- Brockeith Pane scored 21 points and Preston Medlin 15 as Utah State used an 11-0 second-half run to beat in-state rival Brigham Young 69-62 Friday night.
The Aggies have won 32 straight home games -- the third-longest active home winning streak in the nation behind Duke (36) and Kentucky (34).
The win avenges a 78-72 loss to the Cougars last November in Provo.
Noah Hartsock, playing with a bloodied nose, led BYU with 18 points as the Cougars began life without national player of the year Jimmer Fredette.
■ Missouri State 68, UNR 46 -- At Reno, Caleb Patterson scored 17 points to lead the Bears past the Wolf Pack in the teams' season opener.
Anthony Downing had 12 points and Nathan Scheer 11 for Missouri State.
Kevin Panzer scored 10 points to lead UNR, which shot only 13 of 50 from the field, including 5 of 25 from 3-point range.
The Bears used a 27-8 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half to put the game away. The Wolf Pack had only one field goal during the stretch.
