Williams, New Mexico extend win streak to 12
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Kendall Williams made his first four 3-point attempts en route to a season-high 21 points and New Mexico beat North Dakota 85-57 on Saturday.
Drew Gordon had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Lobos (14-2), who won their 12th straight game.
Troy Huff scored 22 points and added eight rebounds to lead North Dakota (6-9). Patrick Mitchell scored 14 points.
New Mexico took control with a 7-0 run on two possessions. Tony Snell hit a 3-pointer and subsequent free throw, and moments later Jamal Fenton hit another 3-point shot to push the Lobos' lead to 49-34.
New Mexico added a 17-1 run over a five-minute span to push the lead to 66-40.
New Mexico finished with a season-high 11 blocked shots, one off the school record. The Lobos also had 20 assists on their 28 baskets.
■ Colorado State 87, Nebraska-Omaha 63 -- At Fort Collins, Colo., Dorian Green scored 21 points to lead the Rams (10-4) over the Mavericks (6-11).
Green made 6 of 7 shots from the field and all seven free throws. He scored 16 points in the first half, helping Colorado State to a 40-26 lead.
Reserves Chad Calcaterra and Greg Smith added 14 points each for the Rams.
