If we ever grow a foot, we’d love to try the stunt Elite Daily blogger Connor Toole pulled Thursday night at the NBA Draft.
Armed with nothing but his 6-foot-10-inch frame and a suit, Toole impersonated a draft pick at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
He posed for pictures before the draft and was cheered by a group of New York fans after putting on a Knicks hat. Kristaps Porzingis should be so lucky as he was roundly booed when New York made the Latvian 19-year-old the No. 4 overall pick.
Toole had no problem getting on the floor of the Barclays Center for the actual draft.
“It turns out if you wear a suit, act really confident and are also 7-feet tall, it’s real easy to get on the floor of the NBA Draft,” Toole said.
The real fun began after the draft for the bearded Toole — who could easily pass for Mark Eaton’s son — as he put on a Utah Jazz hat and went out for a night on the town in New York City.
Toole soon discovered that portraying a newly-minted NBA player has its privileges as he sprayed champagne, posed for more pictures, was treated to free shots and became friendly with several attractive women — two of whom flashed his cameraman and another whom Toole made out with before calling it a night.
“Today I met a few NBA players, took a lot of free shots and even saw a pierced nipple,” he said. “All around, it sounds like a great life when you’re in the NBA. Can’t wait to wake up at 9 o’clock and go to work.”
