A “genocide is bad” resolution isn’t as non-controversial as one might think

On Wednesday Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., introduced a bill that would affirm atrocities committed against Armenian people from 1915 to 1923 were, indeed, genocide.

It turns out the government of Turkey doesn't cotton to getting called out for committing such acts.

Turkish ambassador to the United States, Nabi Sensoy, had this to say about the resolution: "I hope that there will be no progress on this issue. I don’t think it was the right time to take this step since the resolution was introduced immediately after the signing of the Turkey-Armenia Protocols. It is wrong and sad."

Here's the latest from, "The Armenian Weekly."
