Create gourmet burgers plans customer appreciation day

Project Dinner table set for Saturday

Project Dinner Table plans to host an event Saturday at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Orchard, 4600 Horse Drive.

Cocktails are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the dinner for 7:30 p.m. Chefs from chef Mario Batali's team at B&B Ristorante and Enoteca Otto Pizzeria at The Venetian and Carnevino Italian Steakhouse at the Palazzo plan to prepare the meal.

Each dinner has guests seated together at a long table and lasts approximately four hours. It includes cocktails and coffee, the meal, entertainment, a gift bag and a philanthropic donation.

Saturday's dinner will benefit We Care, We Share Foundation and Create a Change Now.

Festa Junina celebration set
at Via Brasil Steakhouse

Via Brasil Steakhouse, 1225 S. Fort Apache Road, is scheduled to host Festa Junina, a celebration of family and food, Sunday.

Festa Junina is a Brazilian festival that takes place in June. The celebration at Via Brasil is set to feature children's entertainment, including balloon animals, face painting and showings of a popular children's movie on a 100-inch projection screen at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. with popcorn, snow cones and caramel apple treats.

Adults can enjoy traditional Brazilian dishes, the gourmet salad bar and 16 varieties of meat, chicken, lamb and fish. A half-price wine list will be available.

Les Kincaid announces next round
of wine classes

Wine radio show host Les Kincaid plans to instruct a series of wine classes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on specific days in June and July.

Spanish Wines & Tapas is scheduled for June 28 at the Ferguson Bath & Kitchen Gallery, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, No. 109. Students will learn about Spanish wines and pairing them with tapas. The cost is $55 per person.

Garlic Lover's Feast is scheduled for June 29 at Ferguson. Learn to use garlic in a multitude of recipes. The cost is $45 per person.

Summer Pastas is scheduled for July 12 at Ferguson. Learn how to make simple summer dishes, such as herbed vegetable and artichoke pasta, spicy snapper with linguini, orecchiette, cauliflower and prosciutto and spaghetti with grilled corn and chicken. The cost is $45 per person.

Beers is scheduled for July 13 at Total Wine & More in Boca Park, 730 S. Rampart Blvd. Sample beers and learn about their origins and history. The cost is $45 per person.

Organic Wines is scheduled for July 20 at Total Wine & More in Boca Park. Explore organic wine terms such as biodynamic and sustainable, the agricultural practices behind the terms and look at techniques for vinification and how it translates into what you taste in the glass. The cost is $45 per person.

Finally, Pizzas is scheduled for July 26 at Ferguson. Learn foolproof techniques for making pizza at home. The cost is $45 per person.

Mike Mills, owner of 17th Street Bar & Grill and founder of Memphis Championship Barbecue, recently appeared on the Food Network show "Best Thing I Ever Ate."

The Haulin Balls Food Truck is now open for business across the Las Vegas Valley, serving specialty meatballs.

Sweet Tomatoes to support
Easter Seals in June

Sweet Tomatoes plans to support Easter Seals Southern Nevada by offering a free bag of cookies and a coupon toward each diner's next visit as a thank you for making a donation of $2 or more during June.

Over the last four years, Sweet Tomatoes has donated more than $119,000 to help Easter Seals locations across the country in its mission to help people with disabilities and other challenges.

The money raised will go directly to the Easter Seals services that assist nearly 6,000 Southern Nevada residents living with disabilities.
