All’s quiet on the Sen. Inouye front

It will be interesting to see how Democratic Party leaders treat the news that the highly regarded senator from Hawaii, the late Daniel Inouye, was the dirty old man who sexually harassed Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
Gillibrand wrote a book that included tales of how she was sexual harassed in the U.S. Senate, but she refused to name names. Many speculated that she refused to name her tormentors because they were all Democrats.
That appears to be right as the New York Times now reports that Sen. Inouye was the reprobate. Inouye, of course, is a revered Democratic senator. A war hero.
Will his name now be mud among Democrats?
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the keeper of women’s issues for Democrats, initially described the acts against Gillibrand as “appalling” and “disrespectful.”
Will we now see Pelosi call Inouye himself “appalling” and “disrespectful?”
So far, all’s quiet on the Inouye front. And that tells you something about Gillibrand and Pelosi in specific and politics in general.
