Angle misspeaks; Reid remains silent

You decide which is more egregious: letting slip that you think the $20 billion BP oil spill escrow account is a “slush fund,” or somehow remaining silent on the controversial Arizona immigration law.

Republican U.S. Senate challenger Sharron Angle gets tagged with the slush fund statement after she put her sensible shoe in her mouth on a local radio talk show.

Her campaign rushed to correct her daffy statement.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid exercised his right to remain silent on the Arizona immigration issue despite the fact most Americans aren’t shy about expressing their opinion on the subject.

His campaign, I’m guessing, hoped no one would notice the outspoken Reid’s Marcel Marceau routine. Angle’s camp pounced on the moment in what by my measure is its first effective response of the campaign.

Reid, meanwhile, wasted no time in spilling Internet ink on Angle’s BP blunder.
