Angle turns “extremist” label back on Reid in new ad

Sharron Angle turns the tables on U.S. Sen. Harry Reid in a new TV ad that suggests the Democrat is the "extremist" in the Senate race.

In the ad, Angle looks directly in the camera and ticks off statistics that show why Nevada has the worst economy in the nation.

"On Harry Reid’s watch, Nevada’s unemployment rate has shot past 14 percent -- highest in the country," Angle says.

"Our foreclosure rate is highest in the nation. Home values have dropped almost 50 percent.

"Those aren’t just numbers.  They’re people who’ve lost their jobs. Families who’ve lost their homes."

Then she blames Reid and mocks him for calling her an "extremist," according to the script of her latest ad.

"Harry Reid has dragged Nevada down to perhaps its lowest point ever. And he wants to call me an extremist?"

The Reid campaign, in most of its ads, has been portraying Angle as extreme for wanting to cut federal agencies like the Education Department and for suggesting Social Security be phased out.

The label has been hurting the Tea Party favorite with two-thirds of her own Republican supporters unhappy she won the GOP primary, according to a recent poll for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The new Angle ad comes on the same day Reid put out a new ad that slams Angle for calling the unemployed "spoiled."
