Another Angle issue emerges

Here's another issue Democrats are calling attention to as they seek to define Republican Senate challenger Sharron Angle as dangerous.

In an interview she gave earlier this year to Oregon-based conservative talk show host Lars Larson, Angle suggests that angry Americans may take up arms "if this Congress keeps going the way it is."

Washington Post blogger Greg Sargent was the first to report this, with Sen. Harry Reid's campaign staff promoting it on their Twitter postings.

"You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. In fact Thomas Jefferson said it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years," Angle says on the audio.

"I hope that is not where we are going but if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies. They are saying, my goodness, what can we do to turn this country around?

"I'll tell you, the first things we can do is take Harry Reid out," she said.

Asked to comment on the issue, Angle spokesman Jerry Stacy said via email: "Sharron Angle does not advocate a revolution. Her goal is to go to Washington with other like-minded elected officials who understand the proper role of the federal government as already defined by our Constitution."
