AROUND TOWN: Vote for best family-friendly programs in Las Vegas at Web site

Voting in the valley is under way.

ParentConnect.com, a parent-resource Web site that is part of the Nickelodeon family of Web sites, is hosting its first Parents’ Picks
Awards. Voted for by locals, the awards single out the best family-friendly programs and services in communities throughout the country.

Categories include best family restaurant, place for family bonding, haircut, toy store, day camp, museum, parents' night out and libraries, among others. Each category has big kid, little kid and teen picks.

Registration is quick, and voters are automatically entered into a $2,000 sweepstakes. To pick your favorites, visit the Parents Pick Web site. Voting ends on June 30, and anyone who registers can receive an e-mail when the winners are posted.
