Attacking bear scared off by Justin Bieber song

Apparently Justin Bieber’s voice can be used to frighten bears away now.

The New York Post reported that a brown bear in Russia attacked a fisherman. Igor Vorozhbitsyn, 42, was taken by surprise by the bear, who pounced on him from behind on his way to a fishing spot.

While he was down, his cellphone went off, playing the Bieber song “Baby.” The bear then left and he was able to call for help.

According to the report from the Croatian Times, sudden sounds can shock a bear into leaving.

He wound up with a swollen eye as well as numerous cuts and bruises, but is alive and recovering.

Vorozhbitsyn said that the ringtone was not his choice. His daughter had loaded it onto his phone as a joke.
