Cars and Coffee to hold road trip

Cars and Coffee will present a March cruise Sunday. The Fire to Water Tour will travel through Valley of the Fire and along the newly paved winding roadways through Lake Mead recreation area.

The tour ends at Montelago Village at Lake Las Vegas where participants will gather for a Mexican lunch at Sonrisa Grill.

The village will allow 40 cars to be displayed inside the property.

Cost is $20 per person and includes tax and tip for the Mexican taco bar buffet.

Participants are asked to bring cash, as well as money for the park entry fee.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a drivers meeting in the parking lot of the Iron Skillet Cafe off of Interstate 15 at the East Speedway Boulevard exit.

motorhead fest set for May 6, 7

Registration is under way for the 16th annual Cars, Stars and Guitars Motorhead Festival to be held May 6 and 7 at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive.

In addition to a car show, the event will include music, vendors and a poker run.

Expected to be on display are hot rods, sports cars, race cars, trucks, motorcycles and boats .

Registration is $20 and includes an event T-shirt and pin, participation plaque, VIP parking and goodie bag. Late registration after April 20 will be available for $35, if space is available .

The event is limited to 400 participants.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit area charities.
