Berkley on July unemployment: ‘Top priorities must be jobs, jobs, jobs’

Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., and a candidate for U.S. Senate, said this in a statement in reaction to today's report that Nevada's unemployment rate rose to 12.9 percent in July:

"Today’s news that Nevada’s unemployment rate has risen only highlights what our top priorities must be: jobs, jobs, jobs. As I travel across Nevada on my ‘Focus on Jobs’ tour, it's clear that Nevadans are suffering and that job creation is their number one concern. When my family came to Nevada years ago, we found opportunities and a better life here. I am working every day to make sure that current and future generations have the same opportunities that my family had. That is why I am focused on putting people back to work by investing in clean energy, providing incentives to small businesses to create jobs and closing tax loopholes that encourage companies to ship jobs overseas."
