Centennial Hyundai sales consultant receives honor from Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce

Centennial Hyundai sales consultant Curtis Hardy sold a 2014 Elantra to Las Vegas chiropractor Dr. Julie Quan in July. Little did he know then that Quan’s purchase would lead to his being named for Customer Service Excellence by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce about two months later.

Hardy, a 16-year Las Vegas resident and Cleveland native, has been selling cars for less than a year after spending five years in the restaurant hotel supply industry serving the Strip.

“It was very exciting to know that I had been nominated and even more exciting when I discovered that I had won the award,” the 42-year-old Hardy said. “There is a special thrill involved with selling a car anyway especially when it leads to receiving an honor like the one I received from the Chamber of Commerce.”

Hardy entered the business after spending a year in Europe. When he arrived in Las Vegas in November, he saw a Centennial Hyundai ad for sales consultants. After interviewing for the job with General Sales Manager Jeff Martin, Hardy went to work and he hasn’t looked back.

Hardy has succeeded quickly. He is usually in the top five each month and was the dealership’s top-producing sales consultant for September.

“I definitely want to go into management sometime later,’ he said. “I plan on staying in the industry for many years to come.”

The opportunity to work for Hyundai was huge, especially considering Hyundai’s warranty.

“The warranty definitely makes you feel better when selling a Hyundai because we know our customers are protected after the sale,” he said. “Hyundai set the mark when it introduced the warranty that includes 10-year, 100,000 powertrain coverage along with a five-year, 60,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty.”

Hardy added that the coverage includes five-year unlimited miles roadside assistance.

“When Hyundai put together these warranties coupled with such great fuel efficiency, it certainly did its homework,” Hardy said. “The company covered its bases and set the standard in the automobile industry.”
