Chevrolet wins North American Car and Truck of the Year awards

The all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 are the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the year. In what many of the voters called the “most competitive group of finalists in the 21 years of balloting,” Chevrolet swept both awards in one year for the first time.
Forty-nine automotive journalists from the United States and Canada vote to recognize the most outstanding vehicles of the year based on factors including design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar.
The redesigned Corvette Stingray is the most powerful standard model ever, with 455 horsepower and 460 pounds per foot of torque from a 6.2L V-8 engine — enabling models with the available Z51 performance package to sprint from zero to 60 in 3.8 seconds.
“We’re seeing overwhelming interest in the new Corvette Stingray — people are really buzzing about its aggressive new look, unmatched performance and power and totally redesigned interior,” Ed Bozarth Chevrolet General Manager Kent Ahrens said.
The all-new Chevrolet Silverado hit showrooms late last year. It has a 5.3L Ecotec3 V-8 that generates 355 horsepower, yet switches to four cylinders to save fuel during light-load driving. With an Environmental Protection Agency estimated fuel economy of as much as 23 mpg, Silverado offers the best fuel economy of any V-8 pickup, Ahrens said.
“The Silverado offers the quietest interior in its class and our buyers love the all-new Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system. With Bluetooth integration, an 8-inch color touchscreen, and natural language voice commands, the 2014 Silverado is smarter, stronger and more capable than ever,” Ahrens said.
The Chevrolet line of vehicles offers two years/24,000-mile scheduled maintenance and a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty.
