Coldwell office reopens after fire

Coldwell Banker Premier Realty celebrated the reopening of their rebuilt office at 8290 W. Sahara Ave. on April 23. The facility had to be rebuilt after an electrical fire last year.

The company invited the Las Vegas Fire Department to the event to have its experts talk about fire prevention.

The department’s public information officer, Timothy R. Szymanksi addressed the dangers of fans and electrical fires as the leading cause of fire at the event.

According to the National Fire Prevention Association, electrical and mechanical factors were the leading causes of home air conditioning, fan or related equipment fires between 2006 and 2010, with 52 percent of all stationary fan fires starting in the bathroom.

Coldwell Banker Premier Realty management suspects a bathroom fan was the cause of last year’s fire that destroyed their office facility.

“Assisting the fire department in their fire prevention message was a no-brainer. We believe this is the perfect opportunity to alert the public about the importance of regularly changing fans and other fire preventative measures. We were very fortunate that there was no loss of life during the fire, and we were able to rebuild,” said Bob Hamrick, Coldwell Banker Premier Realty’s Chairman and CEO.

Coldwell Banker Premier Realty has three offices in the Las Vegas Valley. The Sahara location, with just over 100 sales associates, was the only branch displaced by the fire. Those agents spent a year in a temporary location.

To keep pace with the business market, CBPR’s remodeled building has flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi and more mobile/social space. The new facility will strengthen CBPR’s market position and help attract other agents looking for high tech office facilities, Hamrick said.

Hamrick and his wife, Molly, acquired CBPR in 1998, leading one of the top producing real estate offices in the U.S. CBPR ranked 14 in the Top 50 Companies for all of Coldwell Banker out of over 1,200 companies with their Sahara office recognized as the No. 1 office in Coldwell Banker’s Western Region.

The company has more than 225 sales associates in three offices and is the only Coldwell Banker franchise in Las Vegas.
