Couple doubles down at Planet Hyundai Centennial

Alan and Julie Kaswen went shopping for a new vehicle a couple of months ago at Planet Hyundai Centennial in the northwest valley and ended up making a pair of purchases.

Alan Kaswen now has a 2012 Genesis R-Spec sedan, while Julie Kaswen is enjoying the ride behind a 2013 Santa Fe Sport.

“This was the first place we checked because I wanted to try out a new car,” Alan Kaswen said. “We then shopped around at different dealerships around the valley.

“We owned a 2003 Santa Fe before and never had a problem. I was looking for a sportier car and found it right here,” he said. “I had driven other coupes that were way too tight and narrow whereas the Genesis coupe had significantly more room. After driving the Genesis sedan, I found it had the power and handling of a sports car but also the luxury of a high-end sedan.”

Julie Kaswen said, “We went on a marathon of test drives spending the whole weekend test driving cars. While we were processing the paperwork for Alan’s car, I saw the Santa Fe on the showroom floor. The Santa Fe is totally redesigned and it had all the bells and whistles that I wanted. I just decided that I also needed a new car.”

Todd Fowler was the ideal sales consultant for the couple.

“He knew all about the various features in each one of the cars,” Julie Kaswen said. “We absolutely felt comfortable with him. I felt like I was talking with an old friend and we were immediately at ease.”

Alan Kaswen said, “As opposed to some dealerships we went to, Todd made us feel no pressure and made very valid suggestions regarding so many options with the various models. There is nothing I like less than pushy car salesmen and Todd let us make up our minds and actually enjoy the process.”

The couple bought the Genesis after extensive research that also prompted the purchase of the Santa Fe.

“They shopped everywhere looking at numerous models,” Fowler said. “They were looking for a sporty midsize luxury vehicle and saw everything from a Porsche Panamera, to the Acura TL, an Infiniti sedan and convertible, the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 5 Series, along with Mercedes E-350.

“They came back to the Genesis R-Spec sedan,” Fowler added. “They liked the combination of luxury, comfort, power and its reputation for high quality. Money was not a factor for them but they wanted the best bang for the buck and we’re so pleased that they bought from us.”

Each of the new vehicles features a warranties that offer 10-year, 100,000-mile coverage on the engine and five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage.

The Kaswens said the warranty, safety ratings, fuel efficiency and design features all factored in their purchase decision.

Planet Hyundai Centennial is part of a group of locally owned and operated dealerships that also include Planet Hyundai Sahara, 7150 W. Sahara Ave., and Planet Hyundai Used Car Super Store, 7100 W. Sahara Ave.
