D.R. Horton builds Buffalo Ranch

D.R. Horton, the Nation's largest homebuilder as reported by Builder Magazine, has announced the soft opening of Buffalo Ranch.

Located at Buffalo Drive and Peace Way, Buffalo Ranch is five miles from the Strip, north of Spanish Trails and inside of the Interstate 215 loop. Upon completion, Buffalo Ranch will comprise 551 single-family homes in four neighborhoods encompassing 107 acres.

"We considered a marketing campaign centered upon the great real estate adage of 'Location, Location, Location'," said Las Vegas' Marketing Director Jeff Ward, "but that didn't quite do it justice. Six years ago we purchased the Buffalo Ranch property because of its compelling location in the heart of residential Las Vegas.

"Typically, home shoppers have to decide between purchasing a new home on the outskirts of town, or a resale house closer to the city's amenities. At Buffalo Ranch, home buyers can find a brand new home without the drive time."

Models at Buffalo Ranch are currently under construction and the model grand opening is scheduled for April 16. However, the presale campaign kicks off today from a temporary sales office located at 4485 Buffalo Drive. Thirteen floor plans are available ranging from 1,760 to 4,400 square feet. Prices begin at $176,900.

"This website was designed for speed and convenience," Ward said. "All 13 floor plans are loaded on an image carousel, allowing web users to rapidly flip through all the plans without tedious drill-down/ click back browsing. Our Realtor partners are heaping praise upon this site, because their clients can easily flip through 2D (two-dimensional) floor plans from smallest to largest."

Eleven of the 13 plans at Buffalo Ranch are newly designed by the local architect, Larry Tindall. The floor plans incorporate many of the newest design trends including courtyards, casitas, dual-master bedrooms, outdoor rooms and Flex Room Over Garage plans known as FROGs. In addition, the exterior architecture and color palettes of these homes present a fusion of traditional Southwest, California hip and Asian influences.

"Many home shoppers are only interested in single-story homes. In the FROG plans, all of the bedrooms and the laundry room are on the first floor. The single-story lifestyle removes the tedium of climbing up and down stairs all day. Anyone who has been running late, but left his or her car keys upstairs knows exactly what I'm talking about. It's wonderful never having to carry laundry down the stairs, never having to lug suitcases upstairs, and never having to worry about a midnight tumble.

"The second-story element doesn't affect the single-story feel, but does offer the benefit of discretionary space above the garage. This flex space has dozens of potential uses, including a home theater, dance studio, home gym, music studio, art room, sewing room, retreat, library, home office or man cave. D.R. Horton -- Las Vegas also offers options for constructing the FROG as a second master bedroom or as additional bedrooms," Ward said.

The D.R. Horton concierge is available to answer questions regarding Buffalo Ranch or any of the 25 D.R. Horton neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley at 501-6301. Information is also available online at DRHorton.com.
