D.R. Horton creates the Flex Room Over Garage floor plan

The Las Vegas division of D.R. Horton will hold the first of its grand openings for its Southern Hills neighborhood on Sept. 11 and 12 This executive-home neighborhood features D.R. Horton's newest floor-plan concept -- the FROG.

With its focus on delivering affordable single-story floor plans throughout the Las Vegas Valley, D.R. Horton is introducing its Flex Room Over Garage or FROG. The FROG series offers a single-story floor plan with a second-story flexible room located over the standard three-car garage, adding square footage to the plan.

"Many home shoppers are only interested in looking at single-story homes. In the FROG plans, all of the bedrooms and the laundry room are on the first floor. The single-story lifestyle removes the tedium of climbing up and down stairs all day. Anyone who has been running late, but left his or her car keys upstairs knows exactly what I'm talking about. It's wonderful never having to carry laundry down the stairs, never having to lug your guest's suitcase upstairs, and never having to worry about a midnight tumble. This flex space has dozens of potential uses, including use as a home theater, a dance studio, a home gym, a music studio, an art room, sewing room, retreat, library, home office or as a man cave. D.R. Horton also offers options for constructing the FROG as a second master bedroom or as additional bedrooms."

Southern Hills is located in Henderson on Horizon Ridge Parkway, east of Eastern Avenue. The location is close to schools within walking distance, shopping and dining. One single-story without the FROG feature and four plans with the FROG feature are available at Southern Hills. Many homes are under construction and available for quick closing. Prices begin from the high $200,000s.

New FROG floor-plans are also under construction at Glenbrook Estates and Glenbrook Ponderosa in the southwestern valley. The gated Glenbrook neighborhood is on Starr Avenue, east of South Las Vegas Boulevard and one mile north of the M Resort. The neighborhood is close to schools, the Las Vegas Strip, the airport and offers access to Interstate-15 and Interstate-215, the Las Vegas Beltway. D.R. Horton offers seven single-story floor plans ranging from 2,600 to 3,650 square feet and two FROG plans measuring 3,435 and 3,825 square feet.
