Del Webb to hold Sun City Mesquite tours

With a registration list of more than 1,600 registrants, Del Webb recently announced the dates of three information seminars for prospective buyers, designed to provide information about Sun City Mesquite, an age-qualified community located in Mesquite, about 90 miles northeast of Las Vegas near the Nevada-Arizona border.

According to Del Webb representatives, the community is on schedule to celebrate its grand opening in June.

"We have already had an incredible response to the information sessions," said Nick Parks, marketing director for Del Webb Nevada. "With more than 1,600 people signing up within the first two weeks of announcing the dates, we knew this would be a popular community because of its enviable location and we expect interest will only grow as further details of the community are announced and visitors see how quickly construction is progressing."

Three seminar dates have been announced -- May 12 in Mesquite, May 17 in Salt Lake City and May 19 in Las Vegas.

Interested buyers can register for the exclusive seminars at the new site, suncitymesquite.com, which also features regular updates about the community, including photos and a timeline.

Visitors to the site can join the VIP Pioneer list, which entitles them to attend the upcoming information sessions and guided tours.

According to Parks, guided tours of the community will be available to VIP Pioneer registrants by appointment, beginning on May 21. Tour participants will have the opportunity to view the community and select a home site before the grand opening.

Work is nearing completion on Sun City Mesquite's entry, sales center and models. A recreation center, golf course and other amenities are underway and expected to reach completion shortly after the first home closings.

"We anticipate our first residents taking possession of their homes in July, much earlier than we previously had anticipated," Parks said. "We want them to enjoy the Sun City lifestyle right from the beginning. After so much planning, it is amazing to see this community going from concept to reality so quickly."

The 2,014-acre, Sun City Mesquite community will feature a host of amenities designed for recreation and social interaction.

Planned social and recreational amenities for residents will include two recreation centers with fitness facilities, room for club activities, a swimming pool area and various sports courts.

Central to the community is an 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Gary Panks & Associates.

The master plan will encompass as many as 3,400 homes. Future residents will be able to choose from 12 single-story floor plan designs ranging from 1,200 to 3,100 square feet.

Pricing has not yet been announced. Pioneer VIPs will be the first to learn home prices with information on floor plan designs presented at the information sessions, followed by Web site updates.

With a population of nearly 20,000, Mesquite features shopping, resort hotels and casinos and health care facilities.

The community is within easy commute to Las Vegas, as well as the numerous national parks and recreational attractions of Utah, Arizona and Nevada.

"We believe Mesquite is, in so many ways, the ideal setting for the Sun City lifestyle," Parks said. "Based upon the response we have received thus far, prospective buyers agree."
