Depp, Burton’s names missing from White House guest list
UPDATE: This new link will come much to the embarrassment of the defenders of the Obamas on this "Alice in Wonderland" party deal. It turns out that names of both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton were missing from the White House visitor logs that day, even though they were obviously there. The White House lamely defended itself by saying that this is normal because they were "working." Yet, as Politico points out, other entertainers such as rapper Common and musicians Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder were logged it for events in which they were entertainers. Singer Beyonce Knowles, however, does not appear on the visitor log for when she appeared at a 2010 state dinner.
Republicans have jumped on the deal right where it most hurts the Obama administration: transparency. Says the GOP: "Apparently Obama's promise of transparency depends on the day, the event and what they don't want to disclose."
See the last blog item under for the Obamatron response to this story. Ask yourself if this were President Bush would these yahoos be so understanding? Not in a million years. Thinking Americans, however, should hold any administration accountable for the optics of this party. While the people suffered, the Obamas partied. Bad judgment all the way around.
