Dining Pick of the Week: Greek Bistro

It was Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who said "the heart of Greece lies in its food, where every bite is like a kiss." You'll be kissing Greek Bistro after dining on house specialties such as pasticcio (Greek lasagna) and moussaka,traditional eggplant, potato and ground beef pie. Other entrees include kabobs featuring filet mignon, chicken, lamb or keftedakia (Greek meatballs). Vegetarian plates, served with salad and tzatziki (yogurt with cucumbers and herbs), include spanakopita (phyllo puff pastry with spinach and feta). Popular sandwiches are chicken or traditional gyro and falafel wrap. There are appetizers (hummus, baba ghanoush, stuffed grape leaves) and desserts, starring baklava and rice pudding. Entrees begin at $9.75. Greek Bistro is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and is closed Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
