Dining pick of the week: Las Vegas Grille

PICK OF THE WEEK:

LAS VEGAS GRILLE

7865 W. Sahara Ave.
at Buffalo Drive, 998-0719

The Las Vegas Grille, with its outdoor patio, is a comfortable smokehouse-style restaurant that has become the place to enjoy wood-roasted meats, poultry, fish and vegetables. Sandwiches are made on sourdough, marbled rye, wheat, ciabatta or white roll and include sirloin with Swiss, pecan wood roasted chicken with garlic mushrooms, grilled veggies with Swiss and hummus and smoked salmon with lemon garlic aioli. As you can see, this is not just another barbecue joint. All sandwiches come with one side such as red or Bavarian potato salad, braised red cabbage, rainbow slaw, rotini pasta salad or spicy bean salad, with tasty condiments being Bavarian sauerkraut, salsa verde and the house hot sauce. There are three meatball sandwiches: Fusion, sweet and sour Hawaiian, and turkey and chicken green chile. All the meats can be added to large salads or made into combination platters with two, three or four meats, including high quality sausages that are made in house without preservatives or excessive amounts of fat and sodium. Enjoy a dessert such as Great Buns Brownie, apple pie, chocolate peanut butter pie or creme brulee cheesecake. Sandwiches and salads begin at $8.99. Las Vegas Grille is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
