Dining Pick of the Week: Mad Matty’s Bar & Grill

Mad Matty’s Bar & Grill

8100 W. Sahara Ave. at Cimarron Road; 702-254-9997

Mad Matty’s has been a local favorite since 1989, and in Las Vegas, that’s a long time. Watch your favorite sports team on large-screen televisions throughout the dining section that features “down-home country food.” Breakfast is served throughout the day with three-egg omelets, eggs with ham steak or country fried steak, skillets and country eggs Benedict, where poached eggs are served on an English muffin with sausage patties, pancakes and hash browns. Popular sandwiches are French dip, American club, half-pound Angus beef Matty Burger, barbecue pulled pork, chicken Caesar wrap, tuna melt on marble rye, whiskey steak with Swiss on a French roll and Morrissey’s Melt, where ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar, red onion and tomato are layered on grilled sourdough. Among the entrees are lemon chicken, baby back ribs with tequila barbecue sauce, grilled salmon, prime rib, chicken or beef burritos, fettuccine Alfredo and fajitas (chicken, beef, shrimp). There are soups, salads (Cobb, Buffalo chicken, Asian salmon) and appetizers, including nachos, chicken tamales, shrimp cocktail and mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. Several desserts are caramel apple pie, carrot cake and Blonde Bomb Shell, where warm blonde brownie with vanilla ice cream is topped with caramel and chocolate syrup. Hamburgers start at $6.99. Mad Matty’s is open 24/7.
