Dining Pick of the Week: Manhattan Pizza II

PICK OF THE WEEK:

MANHATTAN PIZZA II

4955 E. Craig Road at Las Vegas Boulevard North, 643-6664

Here's a thin-crust pizza reminiscent of the Big Apple. That means a hand-tossed crust, ranging in size form 10 to 24 inches, topped with 100 percent mozzarella and baked in a brick oven. All the popular toppings are available, along with specialty pies such as Hawaiian, vegetarian, Alfredo, Spicy Buffalo, white and the Manhattan Special with eight toppings: four veggie and four meat. Salads are served with garlic bread and include Greek, chicken, Caesar, antipasto, tuna and chef. Among the pasta entrees that are served with garlic bread and salad are spaghetti with meatballs or sausage, veggie or meat lasagna, ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo (add chicken or shrimp). There are calzones, gyros with fries, chicken wings and fingers, Philly steak sandwiches, hamburgers, fish specials (catfish, shrimp), and cold and hot subs such as chicken Parmesan, pastrami, Italian, ham and cheese, salami, meatball and turkey. Several desserts are strawberry cheesecake, chocolate cake, baklava and tiramisu. Ask about lunch specials ($6.49) served daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A 10-inch cheese pizza starts at $5.95, and the 24-inch, one-topping pizza is $21.95 for pick up only. Manhattan Pizza is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
