Dining Pick of the Week: Presto Neighborhood Cafe

Presto Neighborhood Cafe

4950 S. Rainbow Blvd. at West Tropicana Avenue; 702-293-3332

Co-owner Reza Arshadi wanted to do more than just introduce a new dinner menu. So he is donating 20 percent of all profits from dinner sales to the Shade Tree shelter through Dec. 31. You can help others while enjoying some healthy food. And healthy means poached salmon with chia seed-infused, citrus-reduction sauce, hangar steak chimichurri with Israeli couscous, vegetarian lasagna and ahi tuna sliders. Featured sandwiches are Reuben with Gruyere cheese on rustic raisin rye, vegetarian with roasted eggplant and red peppers and goat cheese on olive bread, meatball sliders on brioche mini buns and turkey with cheddar, bacon and avocado on toasted cranberry walnut bread. Salads are made with a variety of ingredients, including asparagus, beets, almonds, wild mushrooms, tandoori chicken, papaya, golden raisins, blue cheese, mango and faro. A real treat comes from the juice bar for drinks such as Tropical Wake Up (pineapple, mango, banana, ginger, coconut water), Brain Power (strawberries, banana, blueberries, almond milk, flaxseed) and Green Machine (apple, avocado, banana, spinach, kale, ginger and agave nectar). Two signature gluten-free desserts are Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Coconut Bites and Brownie Truffles made with zucchini and coconut flour. Presto Neighborhood Cafe is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
