Dining Pick of the Week: Rachel’s Kitchen

Rachel’s Kitchen

Montecito Marketplace, 7010 N. Durango Drive; 702-802-5000

Here’s a friendly kitchen where the stove is always on for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is available all day and includes omelets, steel-cut oatmeal, granola, breakfast burrito, multi-grain pancakes and The Favorite: three scrambled eggs with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, avocado and mushrooms. Popular sandwiches are smoked turkey and avocado, Rachel’s Chicken Salad (apples, grapes, celery and scallions), vegetarian, albacore tuna salad and the Ultimate Grilled Cheese (Gruyere, cheddar and Parmesan). All are served with salad, fries or onion rings. There are one-third pound hamburgers and assorted wraps such as chicken Caesar, barbecue chicken and curry chicken. Several salads are Cobb, Chinese chicken, grilled vegetable and chicken, arugula pear, and chopped with broccoli, red cabbage, tomatoes, olives, garbanzo beans and mozzarella in balsamic-basil vinaigrette. Pasta entrees include Rachel’s Macaroni and Cheese, angel hair Bolognese and traditional tomato basil. Smoothies (Hawaiian Bliss, Berry Mania, Peachberry, Peanut Butter Blast, Acai Berry) are made with nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt, while assorted juices are made with carrots, beets, cucumbers, kale, spinach and apples. A kid’s menu has scrambled eggs, peanut butter and jelly sandwich and banana chocolate chip pancakes. Sandwiches start at $7.75. Rachel’s Kitchen is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
