PICK OF THE WEEK:
SPAGHETTI & COMPANY
5585 Simmons St. at Ann Road,
778-3636
Spaghetti takes front and center at this comfortable restaurant, but it's not just spaghetti. Featured pasta dishes are fettuccine Alfredo, penne primavera, meat or veggie lasagna, cheese ravioli, rigatoni bolognese and manicotti. Spaghetti is baked (like a spaghetti quiche) with Romano cheese, spinach and mushrooms and grilled vegetables or sweet sausage. Add homemade beef meatballs or sweet Italian sausage. Other entrees are sausage, peppers and onions with pasta, eggplant or chicken Parmigiana and chicken cacciatore. There are calzones, strombolis and pizzas, starring the original Bensonhurst (tomato, basil, mozzarella) and the Sicilian, a thick-crust square pie. Several hot subs are grilled chicken breast, meatball or chicken Parmigiana and grilled vegetables, along with cold subs with names such as Guido (roast beef, ham, genoa salami, Swiss, provolone) and the Sinatra made with a choice of three meats and two cheeses. Popular sides are garlic knots, fried calamari and mozzarella sticks. Three desserts are cannoli, New York cheesecake and red velvet cupcake. Spaghetti quiche starts at $6.25 and subs at $6.75. Spaghetti & Company is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. -- Jack Bulavsky
