Discovery to open Pyrenees

Today and Sunday Discovery Homes will celebrate the grand opening of its Pyrenees community in Mountain's Edge. The southwestern Las Vegas neighborhood includes two floor plans with as much as 2,496 square feet of living space.

Discovery Homes has two home designs at Pyrenees. The Teresa is a 2,159-square-foot home with three bedrooms, three baths, formal living and dining rooms and an oversized second-floor alcove. This home includes a first-floor bedroom and full bath.

"The Carmen, at 2,496 square feet, includes three bedrooms, 2½ baths, an oversized great room, a first-floor parlor and a second-floor loft or optional master retreat," Zora said. "This home can also be built with an optional second master bedroom downstairs, which is perfect for those with roommates, long-term guests or for those who can't use stairs.

"Outside their homes, residents enjoy energy-efficient construction, extra-long paver driveways and preplumbing for gas in the backyard," Zora said. "Inside, these open and airy floor plans include 9-foot ceilings, granite kitchen countertops, designer selected beech cabinetry, raised-panel interior doors, upstairs laundry rooms, dual sinks in the master bath and prewiring for ceiling fans, cable and television in all bedrooms.

It is surrounded by mountains and is less than a 15-minute drive from Red Rock Canyon, Spring Mountain Ranch and Bonnie Springs.

The homebuilder is also selling new homes in its Cascade and Breckenridge collections adjacent to Pyrenees in Mountain's Edge.

Six designs in the Cascade and Breckenridge collections allow homebuyers to choose the space that fits their lifestyles. Large master bedrooms, covered porches, private courtyards and four-car garages are available with homes that start at $239,990.

"Mountain's Edge is a fantastic community and one that is nearby many dining, shopping and outdoor opportunities," Zora said. Highlights of Mountain's Edge include Exploration Peak, a fully restored natural mountain park, and Exploration Park, a Western-themed park at the mountain's base. Residents will soon have another park to enjoy as construction is under way on the 20-acre Nathaniel Jones Park in the northwestern part of Mountain's Edge. This park will boast family amenities, turf areas and walking trails. It is slated to open by the end of 2011.
