Drunk driver gets into cop car thinking it’s a cab

A man in Abbotsford, British Columbia, made the wrong choice after a night out drinking.

Police said the man pulled over his car and made his way to a taxi, CTV News reported. He hopped in the back seat and reportedly said to the driver, “get me outta here buddy, cops are everywhere tonight.”

The idling taxi was actually a police car and the man was taken to jail.

Abbotsford Police shared the story as part of their “worst driving excuses” list on social media to raise awareness of safe driving. They didn’t share when the event happened, but the excuses are within the last 12 months.
