‘Eggs Benedict Arnold’ a delicious whodunit

When Cackleberry Clubber Suzanne delivers a cherry pie to funeral director Ozzie Driesden, she discovers him not working at the embalming table but lying on the embalming table, his blood draining from his body. She barely has time to recognize his corpse before somebody slaps a rag soaked with chloroform over her face. Who could have committed this dastardly crime in little Elmswood Park?
In spite of juggling a book signing event, a cake decorating festival and a fashion show, Suzanne stays on her toes trying to find out who really is behind the funeral home murder, in spite of the fact that it looks like the murderer might be coming for Suzanne herself! With more suspects than breakfast specials, Suzanne and her buddies at the Cackleberry Club scramble to crack the case before one of their own ends up 6 feet under.
In "Eggs Benedict Arnold," the second book of the "Cackleberry Club Mysteries," author Laura Childs once again delivers a delicious platter of thrilling whodunit, with a side of friendship and humor and for dessert — a spectacular collection of recipes sure to quench anyone’s hunger for great food!
The Cackleberry Club is a delightful combination of old-time cafe, knitting nook and book shop, run by three middle-age friends, Suzanne, Toni and Petra. Known for their wonderful food, the gals also are known as being able to solve a mystery or two, much to the vexation of the local sheriff.
Childs is also the author of the highly successful series the "Tea Shop Mysteries," which features tea shop owner Theodosia Browning in Charleston, S.C., and the "Scrapbooking Mysteries," starring Carmela Bertrand, owner of the Memory Mine Scrapbooking Shop in New Orleans.
