Endorsements in crowded race for lieutenant governor

Two Democratic candidates among four in the race for lieutenant governor have recently announced significant endorsements.

Las Vegas real estate broker Paul Murad was endorsed late last week by the group Hispanics in Politics, an endorsement that was posted in the Spanish-speaking newspaper El Mundo.

Murad, a Spanish speaker, is focusing much of his advertising effort on Hispanic media.

Another candidate, Jessica Sferrazza, recently annouced support from Emily's List, a prominent organization that supports Democratic women for office.

Sferrazza is a city councilwoman in Reno.

Murad and Sferrazza are joined by aviation software consultant Robert Randazzo of Sparks and retiree Robert Goodman of Nye County in the Democratic primary race for lieutenant governor.

The winner will likely face incumbent Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki in the general election. A recent statewide poll showed Krolicki with a seemingly overwhelming lead over challenger Barbara Lee Woollen in the Republican primary.
