Engle offers options in community

Mountain's Edge, a new master-planned community in the southwestern valley, offers more than 150 models and more than 200 floor plans.

"Each of these neighborhoods has homes that are distinct in design, while blending with the natural beauty and of the community," said Deonna Stocker, manager of information center operations at the community's Home Search Café.

Engle Homes' Rivendell is one of the only neighborhoods at Mountain's Edge exclusively composed of single-story homes. The gated community of 135 homes has three floor plans that range from 2,581 to more than 3,200 square feet with a casita option and are priced from the mid-$300,000s. All home designs include three-car garages.

Engle Homes' Beacon Hill is a gated three-story townhome neighborhood that includes a two-story clubhouse, swimming pool and exercise facilities. There are four floor plans that range from 1,647 to 2,215 square feet and are priced from the mid-$200,000s.

The new homes come with two or three bedrooms, up to 31/2 baths and attached two-car garages. There is also an option for two master suites.

The clubhouse at Beacon Hill features more than 7,000 square feet of recreational space, including a pool table, fitness room, two patios, full kitchen and two lounges. The clubhouse is for the use of the community's residents.

Mountain's Edge features a network of paseos, with one of the pedestrian-friendly trails running behind Beacon Hill. The paseos are interconnected, and when complete will lead to all the planned parks at Mountain's Edge, including the 80-acre Exploration Park.

Part of the appeal of Mountain's Edge comes from its Exploration Park, Stocker said, which is the first of six parks planned for the community.

Exploration Park has an Old West Village developed by Focus Property Group, master planner of Mountain's Edge. It is Nevada's first mountain park and has several trails that lead to the top of 2,846-foot Exploration Peak.

The community also features the Desert Demonstration Garden, which is located behind the Home Search Café. It is a resource center for residents to learn about drought-tolerant plant materials for landscaping. At the garden, residents can walk meandering paths filled with desert-adapted plants.

In keeping with water conservation efforts, the community's home builders have eliminated turf from the front yards of all homes in favor of drought-tolerant landscaping.

When fully developed, Mountain's Edge is planned to house four elementary schools, one of which is already open, with a second one under construction. The community also will have two middle schools and a high school. There also will be a fire station, shopping centers, restaurants and commercial office space.

Builders with subdivisions are Amstar Homes, Avante Homes, Beazer Homes, D.R. Horton, Engle Homes, KB Home, Kimball Hill Homes, Lennar, Meritage Homes, Pardee Homes, Phillips Homes, Pulte Homes, R/S Development, Ryland Homes, Toll Brothers, Warmington Homes Nevada and Woodside Homes.

Astoria Homes and StoryBook Homes are expected to begin sales in the coming months. For more information on Focus Property Group, visit www.focuspropertygroup.com.

The Home Search Café is located at the community's entrance on Buffalo Drive and Blue Diamond Road. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
