ENTERTAINMENT: Send in the auditioning clowns

Du you Cirque? Would you like to?
If you can twist your body like a pretzel or snap it like a rubber band without paging your chiropractor — STAT! — you're among those whose presence is requested at auditions to be held just after Labor Day by Cirque du Soleil, the monster-size circus troupe that ate the Las Vegas Strip.
Cirque, whose Vegas shows include "The Beatles LOVE," "O" and "Mystere," has put out the call for actors and clowns for existing and upcoming shows. To be specific: "contemporary mimes, physical actors, street performers, drag queens, artists with exceptional skills or unusual body types." We're presuming that last one is open to interpretation.
All candidates must be at lest 18 years old, willing to submit a photo and resume, and register online before Aug. 1 at www.cirquedusoleil.com/casting. The auditions, held Sept. 7 and 9, are by invitation only, with callbacks scheduled for Sept. 8 and 10. You can get more info by e-mailing auditionslasvegas@cirquedusoleil.com.
No word on whether you can have your chiropractor on standby at the auditions.
