Family involved in fun park riot over knives indicted
SALEM, N.H. — Members of a Vermont family have been indicted on charges they assaulted police at a New Hampshire amusement park when they were told to leave their knives in the car.
The Perry family tried to enter Canobie Lake Park in Salem on June 16. Police said they became belligerent and when two officers responded, they yelled profanities.
After several warnings, an officer told one man he was under arrest and tried to handcuff him, leading to a fight that injured two officers.
The father, 45-year-old Elmer Allen Perry of Lyndon and 18-year-old Brian Perry were indicted on a felony rioting charge and two assault counts. Twenty-three-year-old Joshua Perry was indicted on charges of rioting and resisting arrest with injury resulting.
