FBI Agent fatally shoots family dog

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Authorities say a federal agent shot and killed a dog in a park in Glen Burnie.

WMAR-TV reports that an FBI agent fatally shot a great Dane after the dog broke free from its owner and attacked a smaller dog on Friday morning at a footbridge near Hopkins Corner.

FBI spokeswoman Amy Thoreson said in a statement that the FBI is working jointly with the Anne Arundel County Police Department to investigate the incident.

Carol Feldhaus told the television station that she was walking across the footbridge with the great Dane and her four-year-old grandson when she yelled at the agent, who was nearby, to allow them to cross. Feldhaus said the man kept walking, and her dog pulled her down and attacked the smaller dog.
