Findlay Toyota presents St. Jude’s Ranch with 2014 Toyota Sienna

Findlay Toyota presented a 2014 Toyota Sienna to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children as part of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program, a philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving away 100 cars to 100 nonprofit organizations over the course of 50 days, based on votes from the public. The 100 Cars for Good benefits organizations that touch lives and is the first Toyota initiative that engages the public in how corporate philanthropic donations will be awarded.

During the voting phase, which began Oct. 1, 100 Cars for Good profiled five finalists at www.100carsforgood.com. The public was able to vote for nonprofit organizations they believed could do the most good with new vehicles. The two organizations with the most votes at the end of each day won one of five Toyota models. Runners-up received a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.

“Findlay Toyota is proud to have a role in the 100 Cars for Good program and recognize St. Jude’s Ranch for Children for its dedication to Southern Nevada,” said Stephanie Bernas, marketing director of Findlay Toyota. “The 100 Cars for Good program allows us all to have a role in advancing charities’ work, and we couldn’t be happier to help St. Jude’s Ranch for Children into this Sienna van.”

Established in 1966 in Boulder City, St. Jude’s transforms the lives of abused, neglected and homeless children and young adults by providing a family environment, an opportunity for sibling bonding and the tools for children to break the cycle of abuse. The charity offers several successful programs including therapeutic foster care, sibling preservation, pregnant and parenting teen care, transitional living, recycled greeting card job program and supportive housing. For more information, visit www.stjudesranch.org.

The Toyota van will be used for transportation needs such as taking the children to school, work and other extra-curricular activities. It is a gift of safety for the children and a gift of fuel efficiency for the charity, so every possible dollar can go directly to help serve the charity’s mission.

“The 100 Cars for Good program elevates nonprofits’ positive impact and is an opportunity for Toyota to demonstrate our commitment to communities across America,” said Michael Rouse, vice president of diversity, philanthropy and community affairs for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. “All 100 of the winners are providing extraordinary and much-needed services, and we thank Findlay Toyota for its role in delivering St. Jude’s Ranch for Children’s car to help them with their important work.”

A six-year, 100,000-mile power-train warranty is provided for each vehicle, compliments of Toyota Financial Services. To learn more about 100 Cars for Good, visit www.100carsforgood.com.
