GOP ” Fire Pelosi” bus in Las Vegas on Sunday

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is bringing his “Fire Pelosi” bus tour to Las Vegas Sunday for a rally ahead of the Nov. 2 mid-term elections.

The Las Vegas event is expected to kick off at 1 p.m. at Nevada GOP headquarters at 6655 S. Tenaya Way. Steele will be joined by former Gov. Bob List and Nevada GOP Committeewoman Heidi Smith.

Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle and House candidate Joe Heck won’t be attending. GOP spokesman Jahan Wilcox said they had prior commitments.

The bus left Washington on Sept. 15 for what Republicans said would be a six-week tour through 117 cities in the 48 contiguous states to tout GOP candidates.

Wilcox said that the focus will shift somewhat in Nevada. Besides calling for the ouster of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., as House Speaker, Steele also will target Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, he said.
