Group launches football-themed ad attacking Trump

Priorities USA on Saturday released a new digital ad called “Football” that uses the sport to attack Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as temperamentally unfit when it comes to national security.

The pro-Hillary Clinton super pac’s ad plays off the use of the word “football” to describe the briefcase that holds the nuclear codes and kept close to the president at all times in case of nuclear war.

“Just like you only trust the very best players during key moments of the game, you can’t trust someone like Donald Trump who brags that he loves war, and refuses to rule out the use of nuclear weapons when it comes to our national security,” the organization said in the release.

“Football” is running during college football games on Saturday and during “Monday Night Football,” and targets football fans on Facebook and Twitter.

The “five-figure” ad buy targets Nevada and six other states, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Hampshire, Florida and North Carolina.
