Guitarist takes on Slayer with a ukulele and wins

We may have found a way your mom will approve of you being a fan of Slayer.

Let her listen to Chicago-based guitarist Rob Scallon’s cover of Slayer’s “War Ensemble” and chances are it’ll find a soft spot in her heart.

Why?

Because he plays those hardcore guitar riffs on something you find in your kid’s toy chest.

Scallon rips into the Slayer classic using a ukulele and, wowsers!, he’s good.

He even drops the solos in there (if you’re a Slayer fan you know how cool that is).

Now that you’ve got your mom hooked, sit down with her and have her watch “Spinal Tap.”

And don’t forget to turn it to eleven. “It’s one louder.”
