Henderson Chevrolet marks 15 years at Valley Automall

Henderson Chevrolet in the Valley Automall is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.

Dealership principal Greg Heinrich, Cliff Findlay, Gary Ackerman and Larry Carter built the mall on 100 acres on North Gibson Road in Henderson. It has since grown to encompass more than 150 acres with 19 dealerships, carrying 24 brands.

"As a family-owned dealership, we understand the importance of service and convenience for working families," said Heinrich whose father, Bill, started in the automotive industry in 1950. "I began my apprenticeship in the car business as a teenager working alongside my father in 1969. I began in the parts-and-service department, then moved up to sales learning the business inside and out."

Heinrich and his wife, Barbara, and daughters, Whitney and Heidi, also work at the dealership, which features 47 service bays, 18 full-time mechanics and an 18-bay body shop.

The dealership, located at 240 N. Gibson Road, has a 12,000-square-foot showroom with an inventory of hundreds of new and used vehicles, including the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. This heavy duty truck is powered by a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel V-8 and was voted "Truck of the Year" by Motor Trend magazine. There is also the 2012 Chevrolet Volt, a plug-in electric hybrid car, which gets as much as 90 miles per gallon. And, there is the classic Chevrolet Camaro convertible that comes with several engine choices that include a 3.6-liter, 312-horsepower V-6 engine or the 6.2-liter V-8 with 426-horsepower.
