Henderson community: built for fun

From pool parties and socials to sports leagues and card clubs, Tuscany Village offers activities and events to residents of all ages.

"One of the great things about Tuscany Village is that residents really care about their community," said Jason Outlaw, activities director at the master plan's La Vita Tuscana recreation center. The 35,000-square-foot facility is one of the centerpieces of the community. "It's not just a place to live, it's a place to enjoy life. You don't have to drive miles to exercise, socialize or just play. It's all right here in the neighborhood."

Outlaw said he has dozens of new activities and events planned for residents this summer.

"Among them are the popular pool parties. Our next one will have a carnival theme and include midway games. It's a great way to spend a summer afternoon," he said. "People of all ages come to the pool parties and really enjoy getting to know their fellow neighbors."

Outlaw points out that sports activities are especially popular at Tuscany Village.

"We have youth basketball clinics that have been very well attended. You can search for Tuscany Village on 'YouTube' to see some of the clinics, as well as the pool parties," he said. "We are also forming both youth- and adult-basketball leagues, which will be hosted in our spacious-indoor basketball courts at La Vita Tuscana."

Overall, Outlaw said he wants Tuscany Village residents to enjoy all their favorite activities at home in their neighborhood.

"From card clubs and art classes to sports leagues and pool parties, there is always something happening at Tuscany Village," he said.

Dunhill homes offers 13 new floor plans at Tuscany Village ranging from 1,215 to 2,683 square feet in both single- and two-story designs. Pricing for the homes starts at $129,990.

"From a 24-hour guard-gated entrance and one of the best community centers in Southern Nevada to a beautiful 18-hole golf course, Tuscany Village is truly one of a kind," said Marietta Manayan, sales agent.

La Vita Tuscana is a centerpiece of Tuscany Village with outdoor activities that include a beach volleyball court, tennis courts, two basketball courts and a resort-style swimming pool, lap pool and two spas.

Inside La Vita Tuscana, residents have access to two racquetball courts, a large indoor gym with a basketball court, workout room, sauna, aerobics room, arts-and-crafts rooms, billiards, meeting rooms and social areas. Tuscany Village is also home to Tuscany Golf Course, a par 72, 6,906-yard course set within the rolling hills and mountain sides of the area.

"All residents also get 50 free channels of cable television, which is a big savings over the course of each year," said Manayan. "All of this is included with no LIDs (improvement district fees)," she said.

Tuscany Village's 13 new plans are also certified by both Energy Star and NV Energy's Energy Plus program.

"Elements like tankless water heaters and radiant-barrier roofs are now standard features at Tuscany Village," said Manayan. "They are normally offered as an upgrade or not available at all in other communities. In addition to tankless water heaters and radiant-barrier roofs, all of Tuscany Village's new plans include dual-pane, low-e argon gas-vinyl windows."

To visit Tuscany Village, take Lake Mead Drive in Henderson and head east. Follow the signs to the community and turn left on Mohawk Drive to the main entrance.

Tuscany's sales office is located at 1549 Olivia Parkway and is open daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
