The Henderson District Public Libraries are scheduled to be closed Dec. 25 for Christmas and Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

CITY OF HENDERSON TO HOST HEALTHY RECIPE CONTEST
The city of Henderson plans a Healthy Henderson Recipe Contest Jan. 2-30. Participants are encouraged to submit healthy and original recipes for a chance to be published in the new Healthy Henderson Cookbook. Categories include appetizers, entrees, desserts and holiday favorites. Submitted recipes are set to be reviewed by the Healthy Henderson team, a registered dietitian and the Southern Nevada Health District.

HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE OFFERED DEC. 30
Consumer Assistance & Resource Enterprise volunteers are set to assist residents in enrolling for Affordable Care Act health insurance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 30. Appointments are required.

UNITED BLOOD SERVICES TO HOST BLOOD DRIVES AT LIBRARIES
United Blood Services plan blood drives from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway; and 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway.

PARKS AND RECREATION CENTERS TO GATHER HOLIDAY TREES FOR RECYCLING
The city of Henderson plans to collect holiday trees for recycling from Dec. 26 through Jan. 15.
Residents can drop off trees at Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Drive; Acacia Park, 50 Casa Del Fuego St.; Pecos Legacy Park, 150 Pecos Road; Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Drive; Morrell Park, 500 Harris St.; Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive; and Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 Arroyo Grande Blvd.
All non-organic material, such as lights, ornaments and tinsel, must be removed. Flocked and artificial trees cannot be recycled.
